2.1 Department(s) Affected: MEADOW LAKE AND DISTRICT YOUTH SOCCER

3.0 POLICY

3.1

Policy Statement: The intent of this policy is twofold, to best develop our players and create an environment where the players who consistently attend and fully engage in practices and games are rewarded. Athletes develop best, both technically, tactically, socially, and emotionally within their team when they are committed to the program and consistently attend team practices and games.

The Attendance Policy is in place to set a minimum standard for M.L.D.Y.S.A teams at all age groups and create the best environment possible for our players

4.0 RESPONSIBILTIES

4.1

Attendance Requirement: All players are expected to attend a minimum of 95% of scheduled practices during the soccer season. This level of commitment is crucial for individual improvement and team progress.

4.2

Practice Schedule: Practice schedules will be provided at the beginning of the season. It is the responsibility of players and their parents or guardians to be aware of the practice days, times, and locations.

4.3
Communication: Parents or guardians are expected to communicate in advance if their child will not be

able to attend a practice session. Timely communication helps us plan and adjust accordingly.

4.4

Notification Process: To report an absence, parents or guardians should contact the coaching staff through the preferred method communicated (team app/text/email, etc.) at the start of the season, in advance of practice.

4.5
Excused Absences: Excused absences include but are not limited to illness, family emergencies, and

school-related commitments. In the case of an excused absence, parents or guardians should notify the coaching staff in advance.

4.6

Review and Acknowledgment: Players and parents or guardians are required to read, understand, and sign this attendance policy to acknowledge their commitment to maintaining the 95% attendance requirement.

4.7
Consequences for Non-compliance: Repeated non-compliance with the attendance policy may result in

additional consequences, including but not limited to suspension from practices, games or tournaments.
