Discipline Policy


1.0 PURPOSE

The Discipline Policy is established to ensure that all members, coaches, referees, linespersons, and players associated with MLDYSA uphold the principles of respect in sport, adhere to the MLDYSA Code of Conduct, and comply with all applicable rules and regulations during any sanctioned event.

2.0 DEPARTMENT(S) AFFECTED (SCOPE)

2.1 Department(s) Affected: MEADOW LAKE YOUTH SOCCER 3.0 POLICY

3.1 All MLDYSA personnel are required to adhere to the MLDYSA Code of Conduct and comply with the rules and regulations set by the SSA or any other sanctioned event. This includes refraining from:

  1. 3.1.1  Engaging in aggressive or inappropriate behavior on or off the field.

  2. 3.1.2  Intimidating others.

  3. 3.1.3  Publicly criticizing players or officials.

  4. 3.1.4  Using foul language.

  5. 3.1.5  Using illegal or banned substances.

4.0 DEFINITIONS

4.1 Code of Conduct: The set of rules and behavioral expectations that MLDYSA members must follow.

5.0 RESPONSIBILITIES

4.1 It is the responsibility of all MLDYSA personnel to adhere to the Code of Conduct and regulations set by MLDYSA SSA, or any other sanctioned event. In case of any violation, the individual must comply with the disciplinary action set forth by MLDYSA

6. IMPLEMENTATION

6.1 Any breach of the Code of Conduct or regulations set by SSA, MLDYSA or governing sanctioned body may result in disciplinary actions, including but not limited to:

Verbal or written reprimand.
Issuance of a verbal or written apology.
Assignment of community service or other voluntary contributions. Temporary removal of specific membership privileges.
Permanent removal of specific membership privileges.
Suspension from designated competitions, activities, or events.

6.1.7 Any other appropriate sanction based on the severity of the offense.

6.1.8 Discipline specific to the SSA’s Tournament Discipline Procedure, if applicable.

6.2 Disciplinary Procedure:

6.2.1 MLDYSA will utilize the SSA’s disciplinary policy as guidance in determining disciplinary actions. Depending on the severity of the offense, MLDYSA may report the violation to the SSA for adjudication. Appeals regarding disciplinary actions must be made in writing to the MLDYSA Board within 14 days of receiving the adjudication, including:

6.2.1.1 Name of the affected individual. 6.2.1.2 Start Date of the disciplinary action. 6.2.1.3 Reasoning for the appeal.

6.3 Appeals Process:

6.3.1 The MLDYSA board will address all appeals at its next scheduled meeting or may convene a special meeting at it’s discretion if the designated Start Date of the disciplinary action is prior to the next meeting. Any discipline invoked by SSA will follow the SSA Appeals Policy instead.

6.4 Record Keeping:

6.4.1 All disciplinary actions and resolutions will be documented and kept on file by MLDYSA for a minimum of three years.
